Familiarity. Almost everyone who manages projects knows Excel. There's no onboarding, no learning curve for the tool itself. If you're building a one-time Gantt chart for a presentation and will never update it, Excel's familiarity is a real advantage.
Custom formulas. Excel lets you build whatever logic you need. If you want to calculate resource costs per task, compute a weighted project health score, or link your Gantt chart to your budget model, Excel can do it.
