A construction schedule is a chain of trades that cannot start until the one before has finished and, often, been inspected. gantt-chart.io lays that chain out as a Gantt chart, so the dates that drive your finish are visible and a slipped inspection moves everything behind it.
Phases and trades
Group work into phases such as preconstruction, sitework, structure, rough-in, finishes and closeout, then give each trade its own bar inside the phase. Subcontractors and owners can read their own window at a glance instead of scanning a spreadsheet.
Paste a task list with durations (one task per line, like "Framing 20d") or describe the build in plain text and let the AI propose a first draft you then edit.
Dependency sequencing
Link each task to the work it waits on. Framing follows the foundation, drywall follows the rough-in, and a change to any duration moves everything downstream.
Plumbing, electrical and HVAC rough-in can often overlap. Remove the links between them so they share a window, and keep the next gate dependent on all three.
Milestone and inspection gates
Turn permits, inspections and handover into milestones so they stand out from the working bars. They are the dates most likely to slip, and the critical path shows which of them actually controls your finish date.
Share and export
Share a read-only link with subcontractors, the owner or a lender; recipients need no account. CSV, JSON and PDF downloads are available on the Solo plan, for the project file or a printed copy on site.

Frequently asked questions
- Can I build a construction schedule with inspection gates?
- Yes. Add each inspection as a milestone and link the next trade to it, so work behind the gate cannot start on the chart until the inspection date has passed.
- Can subcontractors see the schedule without an account?
- Yes. Read-only share links open in the browser without signing in.
- Can I export the schedule?
- CSV, JSON and PDF exports come with the Solo plan ($12/month). The Free plan builds and shares in the browser but has no downloads.
