Common Pitfalls

  • Board not activated: Boards that are briefed but not assigned specific tasks don't act. Every board member needs a specific name list, a deadline, and a follow-up mechanism.
  • No urgency mechanism: Campaigns without a matching gift or time-limited incentive often plateau mid-campaign. Secure the matching gift before launch, not during.
  • Acknowledgments deprioritized: Donors who wait two weeks for a thank-you are less likely to renew. Build acknowledgment processing into the daily campaign workflow.
