About this wedding planning timeline
Wedding planning is a dependency chain: the guest count shapes the venue, the venue sets the date, and the date drives every vendor booking. This template follows that chain so you book in the right order.
It covers most of a year of planning. If you have less time, compress the early tasks; the order stays the same.
Who it's for: Couples planning their own wedding and planners who want a clear plan to share with clients.
How to use it
- Open the plan. Click Open in the editor. No sign-up needed to start editing.
- Set the wedding date. Set the first task to start today, then adjust durations until the wedding day lands on your date. Anything that would run late needs a shorter duration or to run in parallel.
- Split tasks between partners. Use the owner field so each of you knows which bookings are yours.
- Share with family or your planner. Send a read-only link so everyone sees the same dates.
Planning tips
- Settle a guest count range before touring venues; capacity rules out options quickly.
- Attire usually needs several fittings. Leave room before the final one.
- Set the RSVP deadline so it lands before the caterer's headcount deadline.
